But what truly sets SAC apart is its commitment to creating a sense of belonging. Each of the 2,000 members, along with every staff employee and trainer, is considered part of the SAC team. This strong sense of community is palpable, creating a supportive and motivating environment for everyone. The "Young at Heart" seniors program exemplifies this commitment, providing tailored activities and social opportunities for older adults to stay active and connected.
Even with its growth and expansion, SAC hasn't forgotten its roots. Racquetball remains an integral part of the club's identity, honoring its origins as the Salem Racquetball Club. The original racquetball courts are still in use, providing a place for enthusiasts to enjoy this fast-paced and challenging sport.
For those seeking a more structured approach to fitness, SAC offers a wide array of group exercise classes, including yoga, barre, cycling, Les Mills programs, and aquatics. These classes are led by certified instructors who are passionate about helping members achieve their fitness goals. Personal training is also available for those who prefer a one-on-one approach.
SAC's commitment to family extends beyond just the adults. The Salem location is equipped with a splash pool, rock walls, and childcare services, making it a blast for the whole family. Parents can work out knowing that their children are in a safe and engaging environment. The splash pool provides a fun and refreshing way for kids to cool off, while the rock walls offer a challenging and rewarding physical activity.
Courthouse Club Fitness, founded in 1977 on South River Road, shares a similar commitment to community and fitness. Initially, Courthouse was a building with just a few racquetball courts. Over the years, it has expanded into a comprehensive fitness facility, offering a wide range of programs and services. Courthouse Club Fitness Battle Creek and the West Salem gym also prioritize creating a simple and fun fitness experience for all members. These clubs understand that fitness is not just about physical health, but also about mental and social well-being.
SAC offers two types of membership plans to cater to different needs and preferences.
